WATCH LIVE: Gov. Edwards unveils new initiative to bolster McNeese enrollment

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Gov. Edwards is announcing the McNeese First Campaign on July 26 at the Golden Nugget Casino Grand I Ballroom.

The collaborative initiative was created to expand the university's programs and enrollment. Waste management will introduce a new Thermal Desorption Unit as an environmentally friendly materials handling option at its Chemical Waste Management facility in Carlyss.

The event will focus on the vision and cooperation of government, academia, and industry exhibited by the impressive growth and opportunity now resonating in SWLA.

The unveiling is expected to start at 11:30 a.m. Gov. John Bel Edwards, McNeese President Dr. Daryl Burkel, and President and CEO of Waste Management Jim Fish will be in attendance.
