Joseph Enk

Joe graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in December 2022 with an M.S. in Meteorology, following a B.S. in Physics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2020. While in school at ULL he was the president of the Society of Physics Students, and at Florida Tech he worked with the Panther Weather Team to develop a regular student weather cast.

Joe is originally from Covington, Louisiana. He loves to spend time with his family and the comforts of Southern Louisiana cooking.

His interest in weather started from watching the weather forecasts and radar on TV at a young age. Experiencing hurricanes Ivan and Katrina while living in Mobile, Ala., ignited his passion for severe weather which only continued to grow, driving him to forecast the weather as a career.

In his downtime, Joe enjoys gaming with his friends, working out, and being with family, friends, and, of course, his cat Mittens.

Joe is excited to explore what Lake Charles has to offer and is eager to kick off his career at KPLC, extending his passion for weather to others.
