St. Jude Dream Home winner tours house for the first time
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The winners of this year’s St. Jude Dream Home have been announced.
The top prize was a home, estimated to be worth $500,000, on Lakewood Pointe Drive. The home, built by LaRoque Homes, was won by Anna Temple of Lake Charles.
Tickets to the drawing were purchased earlier this year.
- St. Jude Dream Home: Anna Temple, Lake Charles.
- $10,000 Shop Rite gift card: Edward Sosa, Lake Charles.
- 2024 Chevy Trax: Dorothy Linscombe, Sulphur.
- $10,000 Coushatta Casino Resort: Paula Giroir, Lake Charles.
- $5,000 Shopping Spree Changing Spaces: Blair Holleman, Lake Charles.
Temple said this is the first year she’s bought a ticket for the dream home.
“I’ve been donating to St. Jude for years because my nephew was actually a patient there so I’ve been giving them money for as long as I could remember,” she said.
While Temple is receiving a new home, the generosity of all who purchased a ticket this year will help keep the fight against childhood cancer going.
“We’re so thrilled for all of our winners and especially for this community for raising $1.5 million for St. Jude,” Brittni Blankenship with St. Jude said.
The money goes toward St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital so that families never have to receive a bill from St. Jude and instead focus on helping their child battle cancer.
Tickets for next year’s dream home will go on sale in the spring.
