Thanksgiving food drives in SWLA

SWLA (KPLC) - Organizations and members of the community throughout SWLA are holding Thanksgiving food drives for those who may need a little extra help filling their tables for the holiday.
Friday, Nov. 17
- Fearless Missions will give out meals at South Beauregard Community Center in Ragley from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Donations can be dropped off at South Beauregard Elite Gym. Items needed include corn, yams, rice, green beans, cranberry sauce, and Jiffy cornbread mix.
Saturday, Nov. 18
- Dominion Life will give out meals at 9 a.m. at 2750 Power Center Pkwy in Lake Charles. To volunteer or donate, call Pastor Barrett at 337-513-9235.
- South City Christian Church will give out Thanksgiving dinner boxes at 11 a.m. at 323 W. Sale Rd. in Lake Charles. Each box will feed four to six people, and it is one box per car. They have 50 boxes to give away.
- Jarvis & Jacob The Gents are holding a turkey giveaway from noon to 2 p.m. at Lake Charles Boston Academy. To donate, contact the group’s Facebook page.
Sunday, Nov. 19
- Always Cool Air & Heat is holding a turkey giveaway at 4 p.m. at 1301 Gerstner Memorial Hwy in Lake Charles.
Thursday, Nov. 23
- Biscuits & Jamz is giving out a free Thanksgiving meal from noon to 3 p.m. at 620 N. Simmons St. in Lake Charles.
